Job Description

Are you interested in pursuing a career as a Welder, Metal Fabricator or General Carpenter?

Each year, based on the availability of Ministry funding, Technical Training Group offers Pre-Apprenticeship Multiple Trades Exposure Programs.

These programs are TUITION-FREE and include an 8-week paid work placement. 

This training will set you ahead of the competition and help you develop the skills needed to start a career in the skilled trades and work towards securing an apprenticeship.

Additional Information 

  • Primary Trades Exposure: Welding and Metal Fabrication (85+ hours), Secondary Trade Exposure: General Carpentry (65+ hours)
  • 23-week Program: 15 weeks in-class training, approx. 16 hrs/wk (evenings & some Saturday classes) and 8-week, full-time work placement
  • Hands-on practical and theory training in Welding, Metal Fabricating and General Carpentry, Blueprint Reading, Trade Math, Safety Training, Employment Preparation and more...

 

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Must have OSSD or GED, be 18 by program end, and be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (some newcomers may be eligible with appropriate authorization)
