We are looking to hire a Machine Operator Lead to join our team. This position focuses on the operation and setting up of secondary machinery: drilling, tapping, turning, and milling. The successful candidate must possess a strong mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate must have a mechanical aptitude, be reliable, willing and able to learn the unique powder metal process.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

· Operation of machines such as drap machine-tapping, drilling, use of vibratory tumbler, steam treating, echo tapping machine, etc. Then progression to leader on rotating of shifts is required. Eventually fork-lift operation.

· Learn set-up of Secondary machinery, do adjustments and troubleshoot shop machinery for optimum output

· Provide leadership to assign operators priorities each shift, assist operators to solve problems, record measurements and test ring data, furnace work.

· Maintain good housekeeping practices and understand/follow safety procedures and company policies

· Perform other tasks as assigned

 

Skills and Abilities

· Proficient in reading blueprints and following instructions given both written and verbally

· Proficient in the use of SPC charting and tolerancing standards; maintaining documentation

· Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers

· Knowledge of precision practices is required

· Strong mechanical aptitude is required

· Knowledge of lockouts, shop safety and other mandatory safety requirements-whmis, etc.

· Moderate lifting is required, ability to stand for long periods

· Excellent focus and attention to detail, a great attitude and a passion for hard work

· Great work ethic, punctuality and reliable attendance record

· Ability to work on own and in a team setting

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Education and Experience:

· Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent

· Minimum 2+ years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment

· Minimum 2+ years of experience using machinery; preference given to those with shop experience, or manufacturing environment, set up experience or equivalent mechanical experience

 

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

What We Offer:

· Start rate dependant on candidate relevant experience, and progression speed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

 

· 40 - 42 hours per week, rotation of shifts with 2 to 3 weeks alternating day shift & 2 to 3 weeks of afternoon rotation; occasional midnights every 1 to 2 months

· Schedules posted in advance; a paid 30 minutes of lunch per day; shorter Friday shifts

· Vacation- 2 weeks vacation to start (4 % vacation pay added to every pay deposit)

· Benefits-offered after 3 months probation-medical, dental, vision, critical illness, drug coverage, health spending account; co-pay bi-weekly premium.

· Uniform rental provided with 100 % coverage by employer eligible after 2 months. Yearly footwear allowance.

· Year End bonus – eligibility after 6 months of continuous full-time employment

 

 

 


 

 

Wage Details

$21 - $24 per hour
