As a Quality Coordinator, you will lead CMM activities, and support the quality department with other related tasks. This is a contract role, expected to last 18-24 months, to fill an existing vacancy.

Working at our Woodstock location, your responsibilities will include the following:

Job duties:

  • As part of our team, compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, procedures, and Life Saving Golden Rules will be essential.
  • Support production department in meeting goals and objectives by ensuring all employees comply with company policies and procedures, current health and safety legislation, and the Collective Agreement.
  • Participate in APQP (C2P) review meetings, providing input to new programs (i.e.: mistake proofing, gage build, equipment run-offs, FMEA, control plans, inspection instructions, SPC, supplier support, etc.).
  • Responsible for all quality aspects of product launches and completing PPAPs.
  • Lead customer and supplier visits, managing timelines per customer requirements; facilitate customer complaints, hosting meetings to inform management and operations, following up with corrective action review and problem-solving meetings.
  • Responsible for assisting in the creation and maintenance of all quality-related documentation (control plans, inspection/containment/gauge instructions, etc.).
  • Perform walk-throughs, ensuring compliance with quality systems and control plans are in place; confirm operators have proper resources to perform their tasks, taking feedback to continually improve process quality documentation.
  • Manage documentation; revision control on part programs, measurement routines, non-conforming database, etc.
  • Complete necessary reports/summaries for QA Manager to report out, as needed.
  • Participate in company standards/certification auditing.
  • CMM Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for GD&T interpretation & datum strategy, establishing processes that ensure stable, repeatable part set-ups, communicating issues with engineering to resolve conflicting results; work with engineering on changes, and communicate measurement issues to production for corrective action.
  • Run/edit/maintain existing measurement programs within CAT-1000/GEOPAK, by creating basic prismatic feature measurement routines, and generating reports.
  • Build full measurement programs from imported CAD models, configuring safe, collision-free probe paths using proper clearance planes and vector strategies, and setting up probe racks, stylus configurations, and touch-trigger routines.
  • Collect measurement data into MeasurLink in real time, displaying and interpreting basic control chats and capability indicators, escalating issues that indicate process instability.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

  • 3 - 5 years in progressive automotive manufacturing environment involved with Quality Assurance or related discipline.
  • Experience with statistical process control, PPAP submissions and internal/external auditing.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with Mitutoyo CMMs, MCOSMOS, CAT-1000P/S, or GEOPAK, as well as GD&T and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience importing CAD for CMM programming.
  • Working knowledge of the latest edition of TS 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field (quality assurance, mechanical technology)
  • Formal problem-solving, PPAP, and SPC training.
  • Facilitation skills gained through past experience leading teams to positive resolve.
  • Computer literacy in spread sheets, word processing and databases.
  • Continuous Improvement training and knowledge of Industrial Engineering CIP tools.
  • ASQ Certified - CQT, CQE, CQA is a definite asset.
