As part of our Engineering team, you will provide technical support on new and present manufacturing processes and equipment as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Working at our Woodstock location, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • As part of our team, compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, procedures, and Life Saving Golden Rules will be essential.
  • Support production department in meeting goals and objectives by ensuring all employees comply with company policies and procedures, current health and safety legislation, and the Collective Agreement.
  • Provide technical support to maintain product quality and output on assigned processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements on assigned processes.
  • Assist the Production and Maintenance departments in troubleshooting process and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist the Production and Maintenance departments with the establishment of Preventative Maintenance programs by providing technical expertise.
  • Assist with the procurement of tooling, equipment, and spare parts for new and existing processes.
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and projects.
  • Provide technical support on teams that address customer concerns.
  • Co-ordinate all activities to complete assigned manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Co-ordinate and manage assigned Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s).
  • Participate on new product / process project teams and provide support with the start-up of new processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of justifications for process changes & improvements.
  • Provide Engineering support to branch plants and support at the customer’s facility when required.
  • Write and maintain Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) and maintain tooling lists and set-up sheets.

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

  • You will exhibit ArcelorMittal's core values of sustainability, quality, and leadership, on a foundation of health and safety
  • College or university level program in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a production facility; experience in a tube mill/cold draw environment is a definite asset
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and machine controls
  • Direct experience in the operation of automated machinery
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving industrial processes
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, especially when discussing technical information
  • Experience in coordinating and working with others to start up new processes and develop continuous improvement programs
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge and experience with IATF procedures
  • Experience in leading new product/process development teams
  • Must possess basic knowledge or be familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 procedures
