Casual Supply Educator (Casual/on-call)

 

Seeking graduates of Early Childhood Education (ECE and RECE), Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Child and Youth Care (CYC). Current students with suitable availability may also apply.

 

LOCATION: Various locations throughout Woodstock, Ontario - must have flexibility to work at any location

START DATE: Upon Hiring

HOURS: Hours may vary (typically on a call-in basis, or pre-booked when possible)

 

RATE OF PAY:

  • Unqualified non-RECE - $19.60
  • Qualified non-RECE - $19.85
  • Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) - $24.86
  • *This wage includes the Provincial Child Care Wage Enhancement and CWELCC where applicable. 

POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will provide care for children from birth to 12 years of age, in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings Day Nursery. The role of the successful candidates will be to fill in for employee absences, whether those absences are due to illness, vacation, or other breaks. Typically, there is no established pattern to work hours, and no regular hours are guaranteed. The majority of our programs operate from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm so shifts may fall anywhere within those hours. Casual Supply opportunities are available at all of our locations:

 

  • Algonquin Child Care Centre: 59 Algonquin Rd., Woodstock, ON.
  • Community Complex Child Care Centre: 375 Finkle St., Woodstock, ON.
  • Oxford Gardens: 423 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON.
  • Parkside Child Care Centre: 30 Caffyn St., Ingersoll, ON.
  • School Age Programs: Before and After School Age Programs (13 locations). 
    • (School Age Programs Primarily located in Woodstock, with additional sites in Tavistock and Ingersoll).

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE and RECE), Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, other relevant qualifications may apply.
  • A member in good standing of the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (if applicable).
  • Students studying in the above fields are also welcome to apply.
  • Ability to work at various Before/After School locations throughout Woodstock, Tavistock, and Ingersoll.
  • Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR Certificate (Level C).
  • Current Police Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, acceptable to Good Beginnings.
  • Up-to-date Immunization Records required by the Ministry of Education and Southwestern Public Health.
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, oral, listening and non-verbal.
  • Adhere to all licensing requirements as set out by the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), 2014.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as established by the Board of Directors of Good Beginnings.
  • Familiarity with the following curriculum/resources would also be an asset:
