Temporary Early Childhood Educators

Rate of Pay

$26.80 per hour plus 4% vacation pay 

Hours of Work

Hours vary by assignment; between Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Locations:

On-call supply work in FDK programs in elementary schools across the Thames Valley District School Board (schools are located in the City of London, Middlesex County, Elgin County and Oxford County).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Thames Valley District School Board is currently recruiting Temporary (On-call/Supply) Early Childhood Educators to work within the Full Day Kindergarten Program across the district in both English and French Immersion elementary schools. The successful candidates will be placed on a temporary employee list (supply list) to perform work on an "on-call" basis and occasionally in long term assignments.

Our students come first. You MUST be available to work on a regular and consistent basis to meet the urgent and immediate needs of our schools and students.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess a completed two (2) year ECE College Diploma or completed ECE Fast Track Diploma with proof of prior completed post-secondary Diploma or equivalent Degree program with a specialization in early childhood studies (as recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators):

  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following would be an asset:
  • ELECT document;
  • Ministry of Education's Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program
  • The Kindergarten Program, 2016
  • How Does Learning Happen

Your application MUST include a cover letter and current resume outlining your complete work history, proof of educational qualifications, and proof of current registration and good standing with the CECE. Prior to an offer of employment, a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons (at your own expense) is required. Candidates must also be able to perform the essential physical duties of the position. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and or work environment.  


If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas or degrees assessed against Canadian education standards. This will enable you to provide proof of Canadian equivalency when applying for a job. The Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada is a membership organization that offers fair and credible academic credential assessment services in Canada. (NOTE: This is different from translating credentials into English). 

Compensation and Benefits


$26.80 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
