Job Description

Stubbe’s started as a small precast company catering to the agricultural market and have since grown into a diversified company offering a wide range of concrete-related products and services.
Reports to the Operations Manager
Two positions available, Harley, ON and Hickson, ON
YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Batching Operations: Accurately measure and combine raw materials including aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures to produce concrete mixes according to prescribed specifications and quality standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operate batching equipment, such as computerized batching systems, scales, and mixers, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance for optimal performance.
- Quality Control: Conduct routine checks on materials and finished mixes to ensure consistency, strength, and adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and coordinate with procurement or logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment to support production schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including proper handling and storage of materials, equipment operation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of batching activities, material usage, and production output, preparing reports as required by management or regulatory agencies.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with production team members, dispatchers, drivers, and other stakeholders to coordinate batching schedules, prioritize orders, and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, and actively participate in initiatives to enhance overall productivity and performance.
- Other activities as requested by management
WHAT YOU NEED
An effective Batcher must have the following:
- Proven experience as a concrete batcher or similar role in the construction or manufacturing industry is an asset.
- Strong understanding of concrete mix design, materials properties, and batching processes is an asset.
- Familiarity with computerized batching systems and basic troubleshooting skills is an asset.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate measurement and calculation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to resolve conflicts with the utmost respect
- Reliable and highly motivated
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
