Job Description
Summary: Produces a finished surface on parts and assembled saw components by spray painting using a compressed air or electrostatic paint system followed by a curing cycle in a hot air-drying booth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specific Duties for this worker classification include the following items:
- Use specified spraying systems and procedures to apply primer and/or finish coats of paint to saw parts and assembled saw components.
- Select and mix paint according to production specifications.
- Inspect painted parts for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
- Clean and maintain all spraying equipment daily using correct solvents and procedures.
- Clean interior of paint booth and replace air filters and fire sprinkler covers according to a regular maintenance schedule or as required by the supervisor.
- Confer with supervisor (or production personnel designated by the supervisor) to resolve painting problems.
- Maintain paint storage cabinets in a safe and orderly fashion.
- Operate paint drying booth to cure painted parts according to production specifications.
- General Duties:
- Perform all work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario (OHSA) and the policies and procedures recorded in the Company Health and Safety manual.
- Complete all job tasks in a timely manner while maintaining quality results.
- Maintain all necessary documentation.
- Maintain parts inventory using the computerized inventory system.
- Ensure that his/her workstation area is kept clean and orderly on a daily basis.
- Use all tools and equipment properly.
- Assist in other areas of the department when required.
- Train new and/or other workers as required to perform the job tasks.
- Improve level of knowledge and skills through additional training.
