Reporting to Manager of the Mechanics Department, the 310S Apprentice Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles in Stubbe’s fleet. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring the fleet’s vehicles operate efficiently and safely.

 

THE DAY TO DAY

  • Diagnose, repair, and service a variety of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
  •  Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure proper upkeep of vehicles
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it is working properly, adjusting or replacing parts as required
  • Diagnose problems on your own. 
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Service attachments and working tools if necessary
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Assist other Mechanics in the shop
  • Operate and complete all tasks in a neat and tidy order, and perform all tasks in a safe manner

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Apprentice working towards 310S certification.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and automotive software.
  • Ability to read and interpret vehicle manuals and repair documentation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to customers and team members.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with FORD products would be an asset.
