JOB SUMMARY

 Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Redi-Mix Dispatcher, manages and organizes deliveries on a daily basis for AZ drivers out of our Woodstock, ON location. 

This position is based in Harley, ON (between Brantford and Woodstock).

THE DAY TO DAY

  • Coordinate and relay work orders, messages, and essential information to and from transport drivers, sales personnel, and supervisors utilizing a wide range of digital tools, including telephones, email platforms, logistics software, and various messaging applications.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service when handling order inquiries, updates, and any customer concerns, using computerized systems to track and respond promptly.
  • Manage the scheduling and direction of pickup and delivery activities, leveraging route-planning and dispatch software to ensure the most timely and efficient service possible.
  • Provide precise, computer-generated directions and route details to drivers for pickup and delivery operations.
  • Perform other tasks and projects assigned by management, frequently using computers to document and execute tasks

WHAT YOU NEED

An effective Dispatcher must have the following:

  • Extensive comfort and proficiency with computers, including dispatching software, email, spreadsheets, and other digital communication tools.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all computer-based tasks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on professional email and digital correspondence.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, maintaining composure and professionalism when resolving issues.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, adept at multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced, computer-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and respectfully.
  • Solid understanding of regional transport timelines and logistics considerations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting as well as perform independently under high-pressure situations.
  • Must have own transportation
